shows are awesome

Last night's show at the Ottobar was awesome as expected. Although I did only managed to see the last two bands (who knew that the show would ACTUALLY start at 7? And that everything would go so smoothly? Ah well). Armor for Sleep headlined and were great - even better than seeing them at the 930 club because this time I knew who the hell they were and the Ottobar is pretty tiny, so I was super close. The band that went on right before them, Four Year Strong, were really really good, so check them out (they are "happy hardcore," a designation I find both amusing and awesome).
I'm really enjoying this whole going to see live music thing I've got going on. Last night was especially fun because the crowd was pretty much all young kids and I felt zero need to impress anyone (not that I ever actually TRY to impress anyone, because really, I accept my own social awkwardness), so I was super relaxed. Plus I couldn't stop moving, which was fun and exciting.
Saturday is the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the end of February is the Lupe Fiasco show (talk about a wide genre range...), now I just need to find some good local shows in between!
Also, I need a good icon for music-type posts.
