Nov. 26th, 2005 03:09 pmso, at the very least, my singular thanksgiving was a success when it came to the cooking. the turkey breast came out very tasty (although i think my glazing skills may leave something to be desired), the stuffing from scratch worked out, although i think it tastes pretty much like stovetop, and the addition of parmesan cheese, onions, celery and extra bake time made the instant mashed potatoes better than expected. i did burn my maple-glazed parsnips, but they were still edible. and while i forgot about the croissants in the oven, my fortuitous decision to give them an egg-glaze meant they were still good, just extra crispy. and the maple-sauced pears in the slow cooker were fabulous!! sadly, i did not get the house all to myself, since my roommate allison didn't leave until like 1230, came back b/c she forgot something and then returned by 10pm. oh well. at least the middle of the day was pleasantly only me. i watched lots of "what not to wear" (wheee marathons) and the original "yours, mine, & ours" which was surprisingly amusing AND based on a true story (18 kids...whew). as for actual work accomplished...let's not speak of that. i am presently at work, again. and with no third person to rotate in, no lunch. can't wait for 5 although it's going to be a long walk home. at least i thought to bring my tape player. yay music.
