saturday was just....awesome. yay! dira, strangecobwebs, a michiganian visitor and i went to the potomac curling club's open house. and despite by crazily bruised left knee, it was all sorts of fun. including the overly solicitous old gent who felt the need to escort me up and down the ice. it was sweet really. and i did manage to get a stone into the blue circle. yay!! but i thought i might have a heart attack from sweeping...and we only did that once!! and of course my curling delivery has been documented in photographic form. one pic looks all nice and stuff...the other....hello klutz, meet the ice! since the michiganian visitor and i were the only ones cool enough to participate, the rest of our posse had a bit of a time laughing at our shenanigans. AND i made ugly, ugly halloween brownies. they taste fabulous (as tested this morning by ME) but my decorating skills are clearly sub-par. ah well. maybe next time. i must go hide myself in the library so i don't fail out of grad school but hopefully there will still be time to catch the caps game later! if i am a REALLY good girl, maybe i can convince strangecobwebs to go to the game rather than watch it on tv. one can only hope!

Olie for Prez

strangecobwebs and i took a nap but did not, in the end, punk out. surprisingly ended up meeting up with dsudis and the michiganian. which was fun. the 4 of us made a nice cheering section. now if the caps would only work on their defense (Olie had 40 shots on him!! not cool). and their offense (they only took like 17 shots?!?) and they STILL need to figure out the whole passing concept. but on the whole they looked much better than thursday evening. clearly our actual presence is needed at games to ensure victory.
on the other hand, i am totally gonna flunk out. and will probably not be sleeping much tomorrow in an attempt to finish my assignment. *grrr* curse me and my laziness! but i did buy fabulous converse sneakers yesterday- black with shiny pink flowers. and a corset top. yay! and a bday gift for my dad (a sweater and the dvd of the punisher), so i won't be the world's worst daughter. next item of purchase: a caps jersey for my very own!!!
